It can also help managers to have counselling so they can handle their own responses to the emergency and make appropriate decisions for the well-being of the employees and the organisation. In this, as in other circumstances, counselling should be offered to staff on an optional basis. Critical Incident Stress Management Awareness SessionsMany organisations have an appointed executive team responsible for handling an emergency situation. Interlock can provide one-hour awareness sessions to help these staff develop contingency plans for dealing with critical incidents. The session also helps managers understand what happens to people who have experienced a major trauma and what actions are appropriate before and after a debrief. |
